Fixes continue to be made on prototypes as team #4611 works towards creating a final robot.
Today a group of electrical team members worked on building a range finder which was then finished and zip-tied onto the front of the catapult prototype. Due to the extra time students had this meeting, a few veteran electrical members taught first year students how to solder wires together.
Programming team members were able to communicate better with the catapult prototype and range finder by the end of the meeting. They also have coding done for the shooter, even though modifications still have to be made on it.
Fabrication team completed prep-work that was needed in order to mount the wheel shooter on the sled, made with parts taken from last year’s robot, Winnie, in the future. Also by fabricators, progress was made on constructing bases for the castle. A mount for the go-pro was created so many more videos will be up on OlentangyFRC’s YouTube channel in the future.
The drive team held more tryouts today. New and older members were able to practice driving the catapult around the arena and the 4-wheel prototype through the defenses. However, they encountered a problem; when the robot tried to go over the rock wall it would loose power. All teams worked together to problem-solve and electrical was able to fix the issue by cutting a power cable and rewiring it.
