Buckeye Regional: Saturday Qualifications and Finals

The Buckeye Regional competition ended this evening. The team won 6 qualification matches and lost 3. At its peak, Ozone was ranked 7 out of 60 teams. At the end of the qualification matches, we were placed 15th.

Throuhout the day, members of team 4611 attempted to fix the gear grabber and autonomous code by using previous match footage as reference. Drivers used scouting data, collected yesterday, when talking to allied teams before matches to develop a strategy.

The top 8 teams got to pick 2 other teams they wanted on their alliance for final rounds, and despite the hundreds of hours members of Ozone have put into making the robot, we were not picked to go to finals. But, we did qualify as being a backup if any robot in the finals was unable to compete in their match. Although dissapointed, the team still had fun cheering on other central Ohio teams that made it into finals such as Stellar Robotics and MetroBots. We observed and learned from them, so we can improve our program next season.

Blue Hair Spirit!

Ozone continued to cheer throughout the awards / closing ceremony, although the team did not receive any awards themselves. Congratulations to all teams who won awards at the Buckeye Regional, and to all teams going to Worlds!
